The North Bend Rail Trail has trailheads, picnic areas, fire rings, restrooms and Fix-It stations located at various points throughout Wood, Ritchie, Doddridge and Harrison counties. Select a county to see a list of amenities and locations.

Wood County

Wood County is the western terminus of the North Bend Rail Trail. You will start your journey at Happy Valley and cross six bridges and travel through the second longest tunnel on the trail. Trailheads located at Happy Valley near Parkersburg and Walker.

Ritchie County

In Ritchie County you will cross 21 bridges and pass through six tunnels, including the reportedly haunted Silver Run Tunnel. The Foundation's office is located in Ritchie County in the historic Cairo Bank Building. Trailheads located at Petroleum, Cairo, Ellenboro and Pennsboro.

Doddridge County

In Doddridge County you pass through two tunnels and cross ten bridges. The longest bridge and tunnel on the NBRT are located in Doddridge County near the town of West Union. Trailheads located at Greenwood, West Union and Smithburg.

Harrison County is the eastern terminus of the North Bend Rail Trail. Here you'll find four bridges and one tunnel. While there visit the newly restored Salem Depot. At this time, the only trailhead is Harrison County is located in the town of Salem.
